Mark TooheyAbout Andrew Skinner
Leading the practice team at Andrew Skinner & Associates, Andrew has over 37 years of public accounting experience, focusing primarily on small business structuring and tax effective advice. I have been innovating in superannuation as a wealth maximisation tool since 1988.
I have many years of corporate governance experience within the legal responsibilities. This experience has been gained from firstly being involved in the superannuation industry as a director of a trust company and public companies since 1997.
Starting in business services accounting in the 1980’s I progressed to specialising in superannuation law and practice. and this has helped me develop a unique profile in Sydney as a technical superannuation specialist.

My commitment to superannuation led me to be involved in many superannuation related committees being Chairman and member of Industry and Government superannuation committees.
My passion for education encouraged me to teach in many professional forums, conferences and seminars where I have presented papers on superannuation law and practice, governance and business, including the Taxation Institute of Australia, ICAA, CPA’s, TENS and University of NSW. I am now also teaching at Macquarie University in Ethics and Governance.
My great longing is that every Australian would come to an understanding of how superannuation can be a keystone of their long term savings strategies. To do this education and understanding of is critical.
My experience since 1994 has included building my accounting practice; being involved in a superannuation trustee business; structuring commercial building and other transactions; funding the startup of an investment bank and financier and working with many start up and successful small businesses. My work with mineral entrepreneurs progressed to being appointed to several directorships in the mineral exploration area with an emphasis on the listing of such business on the ASX. This has given me a unique understanding of the risks of start up businesses.
